This link http://www.usmilitaryknives.com/knife_knotes_10.htm will take you to a site entitled "Knife Knotes X", where some other information regarding U.S. Patent 4,458,420 can be viewed.  In this instance, it is necessary to scroll down to the bottom of the page, and it's a long ways there!  I am most thankful regarding such brief description, especially that I hold the patent on the tang ROD principal, and that the work is of historical significance.  The featured knife is a 12" unit, and was completed under conditions of privation.  I am most thankful that my name is associated with the U.S. Army M-9 , which I believe to be the greatest bayonet in our history.

Here's another link http://www.quarterbore.net/forums/photopost/showgallery.php?ppuser=4044&cat=500 which will access Quarterbore, and my photo Gallery.  There's quite a bit of information---if you go there, be sure to see comments below each photo.
