Basic process begins with a piece of steel which is shaped into a blank

Primer allows drawing detailed dimensions upon the blank

The blank is fitted with crossguard clevis and tubular handle segment

Initial fit crossguard and clevis

The unit is fully assembled and ready to complete

A rough edge is cut on the blank

Completion of rough cutting edge one side

Rough cutting edge is refined using various hand tools

A fuller groove is formed on both sides of the blank

Sawteeth are cut into the blank

Stamping ricasso of finished blade

Final polish for finished blade
